Today I learnt...

Today I learnt about the Pink Terrace. Mr Williams told our class about the Pink Terrace. The Pink Terrace was made out of limestone and it looked like a solid, pink waterfall and it was said to be gorgeous. Then, there was an eruption where lava was going down onto he Pink Terrace which was in the lava and wasn't found again until now.

Today I learnt...

Today I learnt how to do stop-animation movies or shorts. This is how you do it, you need a camera, a tripod would be recommended, a scenery, props and characters. You need the scenery to make the background, the characters to do the short, props to add more SHAZAM and the camera to constantly take the photo. The photos go really fast in the video were it does a small movie! Really easy.

Today I learnt...

Technically, this is a "Today I went..." thing but I'm gonna tell you anyway. Today, I went to The Mind Lab with 19 other people. It was so cool, because we got to do stop-animation shorts showing the title, credits and background music.

 Legend Of Wormwig Mansion

This story starts with two grown men. One called Jack and one called Peter. They were ghost-hunters. They lived in an old, shaggy log cabin, waiting for adventure. Suddenly, their phone rang.

"RING! RING!"

"Hope it's something exciting, for once." said Peter. He picked up the phone and said, "Peter speaking. Are you serious?! Yeah, we'd love to. Thank you for this opportunity." He put down the phone with a big grin on his face. 

"Guess who's going ghost-hunting for the mayor." said Peter.

"Glad you could make it." said the mayor blowing on his pipe. He was a plump and short man. "Now here is what I want you to do. You have to go to Wormwig Mansion to see if there are any ghosts in that area. It can make a nice jakoo-I mean town hall for Cliffton."
"Wait, Cliffton? I heard there's some bad juju over of their." said Jack.
"Eh, not my problem. Now go on." said the mayor with a sly smile.

We went to Cliffton and saw lots of rubbish looking houses. We walked to a big burnt mansion that looks like it has been standing for 5,000 years.
"Who dares cross the boundaries of the Wormwig's mansion?" yelled something that came from the house. Peter and Jack looked around with frightened faces.
"This mansion is private property," said the house. " Or my name isn't Sir Sniffulus Sickus."
Peter and Jack were frightened of the talking house but they picked up their courage and went on.
"Cliffton is a wierd place. No wonder the Wormwigs didn't want to live here!" thought Peter.
"Enter Wormwig Mansion, if you dare. You will never make it back alive! Mwahahahaha...(cough)(cough)(COUGH)!(hoarse throat) Frog in my throat." said the house called Sir Sniffulus Sickus.


The ghost-hunters walked around the house looking for ectoplasm*. They were also detectives, you know. Just then, they heard a creak on the stairs. They looked up with sweat on their brow. A ghost lunged at Jack with long sharp claws and teeth. He dived to the side but it left the ghost closer to Peter.
"I'm doomed." whimpered Peter.
*something that a ghost is made of.


Jack picked up a mirror and put it in front of the ghost before it hit Peter. It hit the glass from the inside of the mirror but with a face of depression.
"Please! I need to protect this mansion! Ple-e-e-e-ease (sob)!" said the ghost.
"Why do you need to protect this mansion?" asked Jack with a stern face.
"I was the owner of this mansion with my wife, kids and butler, Sir Sniffulus Sickus. One night, there was a big fire that burnt the house but didn't destroy it. We saw a plump, short man that looked like smoke was coming out of his mouth, before we all died and went to heaven. My wife and kids stayed there while me and Sir Sniffulus protected the mansion until everyone was scared of it. Please, I'm the good guy!" said the ghost.
Jack and Peter talked about their decision and let him go free. They just realized that they were the bad guys.


"Good, your back!" said the mayor. "Now about your payment." Then, a squad of policemen burst in through the door and Jack and Peter pulled out their pistols.
"You are under arrest for murder of the Wormwigs and trying to steal land. Get in the car!" said the chief police. The mayor was baffled of what just happened but he knew he was guilty in the police car. Jack and Peter saved the day.

 Today I Learnt...

This was actually supposed to be made 3 days ago but unfortunately, I forgot. Anyway, I learnt how to count forward and backwards in hundredths, the decimal e.g 0.01, and compare decimals with fractions like 5.6 is 56%. Pretty easy once you know it is quite important if you are counting money, and using fractions turning them into decimals as a mathmatician,

Today I learnt... 

How to do a Kahoot quiz on the website, Kahoot. It is about Conrad Cooper's Last Stand, the story that we have to do on Edmodo and what our teachers have to read us today. It is a really good book to read and I definitely recommend it.

Chameleon

Chameleon are a strange type of animal. They are reptiles with extraordinary abilities like camouflage. They are a weird-looking sort. Here are some facts about these strange creatures. The chameleon can look in two different directions to look for prey and predators. Their camouflage ability can show their emotions or hide them in their surroundings. They are also good climbers and can have a sense of humour.

Some of them are quite small and some of them are quite heavy and big. A chameleon’s scientific name is Chamaeleonidae. A Panther Chameleon can live up to 2-3 years while the Jackson’s Chameleon can live up to 5-10 years. They can be a pretty good companion if they were in the pet store.
