Today I learnt...

That meat is usually made of 6 parts. Their is roughly 3/4 (75%) of water, 1/5 (20%) of protein and 1/20 (5%) of fat, carbohydrates and assorted protein. Muscles are made from a lot of cells called fibre. They are all filled with filaments made from 2 proteins: actin and myosin.
There is a picture for Mrs Brown, who got her leg amputated. I think we will all make here feel better. To see the picture, copy and paste this.

Survival in Cyberspace
Illustrated by Angie Belcher
Written by Angie Belcher

This story is about a computer whizz called Jen. She always wanted to be where Dr. Linden works. She works in Future-Tech Laboratories, which is guarded 24/7. Dr. Linden and Jen know each other because Jen usually hangs around in a tree trying to see what is in FTL (Future-Tech Laboratories).

The book was is a really good one. My favourite part is that the computer`s are much more advanced with a security system and a memory of what you want to watch, it can go to websites with your own voice. That is AWESOME!!!

Jen has frizzy red hair with glasses, braces and tons of freckles. When she goes in her adventure, she meets a blonde-haired girl named Alexia. They work together to survive in cyberspace. It was an amazing adventure. This is a must-read. It's probably for 9-12.
Dragon Blood

Oliver was always an explorer. He loved to see the world, even if he was an orphan. He just could not stand staying still for 30 min. That's where is right. He lives in a magical world of trolls, cyclops', griffins and other monsters and creatures. And now Oliver's in detention. He had to wait there for 30 min. Just so the principal can finish his appointment. He's sitting next to Mark, the meanest, definitely dumbest, person in the school. What happened was that Oliver had a dragon doll. Of course, surprisingly, no one believed in dragons. But Mark stole the doll and Oliver punched him. At first, he felt glad that he did that. Look where that got him.

"Oliver, Mark." said the principal. He showed us to sit down.
"Do you know why are here?" said the principal slowly. "Because you showed complete disrespect to this school, violence which was against the rules, and showing anger through fighting except for solving the conflict. I'm very disappointed. Especially in you, Oliver,". Oliver was not usually in trouble, that's why his body was filled with guilt.

Finally, 2 hours of agony has passed. Mark and Oliver have pains in their backs and wrists. It was 3'o'clock. All the children just barged in to get their bags. So did Mark and Oliver. Mark pushed Oliver into a guy with a hoodie on him.
"Hey! What was that for?" said the guy in the hoodie. He took off his hoodie and Oliver saw...a girl!
"Well? Are you going to answer? asked the girl. "Fine. The name is Stacy. I'm new here. What is your name?" said Stacy.

"Uhh. The name's Oliver, but you can call me Oli," said Oli.
"'Kay, Oli. So... why did you push into me?" asked Stacy.
"I didn't. Mark, the kid over there pushed me into to you to go into his locker. I punched when he stole my dragon doll and..." told Oli.
"Wait. You have a dragon doll?" snickered Stacy.
Then Oli gave her a mad look and said. "It's the only thing left of my mum and dad. They were both cryptozoologists. So don't make fun of the doll. I had it for 11 years."

"Oh. I... I'm sorry. Just for you to know. I'm also an orphan." said Stacy.
"Well, we better go back to our orphanage," said Oli. "See you tomorrow."
"Bye," said Stacy. And then she ran off. Oli went to the plains, where there were tall grasses. Absolutely huge. He walked around like he did all the other days. It just made him feel so free. Free like a dragon.

He then heard a roar of aggression. He ran to the noise. He saw a dragon and a troll fighting. Then they stopped. Dragons were extremely rare in these parts. This one is about the same size as a kid dragon. The dragon pawed restlessly at the ground, a giant beast eagerly waiting for its opponent to attack. The troll charged at the dragon at the small-for-its-size dragon. The dragon charged as well. It swept its tail and made the troll buckle to it knees. The troll swung its club and hit the dragon right at its leg.

It struggled to fly but the troll held on tight. The dragon snapped at the trolls face. It bit the trolls arm.
"This is an intense battle." thought Oli.
"AAARGH!!!" roared the troll. It dropped its club and started hitting the dragon. The dragon winced at the pain. It stopped flying which made the troll of balance. The dragon bit at the trolls neck. Oli shuddered as he saw blood trickle down the trolls chest. It fell to the ground limp. Dead. Then the dragon saw Oli.

"Oli. Oli! Where are you. (gasp)." gasped Stacy. She saw Oli and the dragon. The dragon right over him. She just stood there and watched. The dragon got closer to Oli and put his head down slowly. He then closed his eyes and... Oli put his hand on his head. Then he put his hand back and looked around. He heard a voice. He must be going insane. But he then saw the dragon looking at him. Oli looked back and this is what the voice said.

"You were wise not to go between a battle of a dragon and troll. I visit here regularly so please come visit me. I will always wait your acquaintance." Then the dragon flew away. Then Stacy yelled.
"What was that about?! You just pet a dragon. That's flipping amazing!"
"It was pretty fun. But this is our little secret." said Oli. And it stayed that way. Oli visited the dragon that he named Spike. Stacy and Oli were friends and both went to meet the dragon. Together.

Sports or No Sports?

In schools, children learn, read and write together. But they never really do sports. Sure they do them in weekends and holidays, but what about in school? That is the question for this persuasive piece of writing.

Not enough P.E is making people lack in acrobatics, strength and speed. They will have more chance eating rather than sports. They only sit around, use computers all day and do nothing. These people need to be healthy.

In some places, sport equipment can be quite expensive. But in some places they can be sold for quite good deals. In the weekend, kids can do sports like football, touch and hockey. And netball, of course. We can use more of these sports at school rather than sitting around on computers.

Time will come to the children who need to do some sports. They will be more acrobatic, stronger and faster. They can improve. I think we need more sports.

Today I learnt...

Another flower. This one is called "Lily of the Nile". It is part of the Agapanthus family, which is the only genus in the subfamily Agapanthoideae of the flowering plant family Amaryllidaceae. The family is in the monocotyledon order Asparagales. The name is derived from scientific Greek. (I can't do the Greek words so I'll just tell you what it stands for in Greek) "Love Flower".
Today I Learnt...

About another flower. It is called Baby's Breath (yes, it is actually a thing). It is also known as Gypsophila, which is a genus of flowering plants in the carnation family, Caryophyllaceae. They are native to Eurasia, Africa, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. Turkey has a particularly high diversity of Gypsophila Taxa, with about 35 endemic species.
 Today I learnt...

About some flowers. For this TIL, we have the hyacinth flower. It is a small genus of bulbous blooming plants in the family called Asparagaceae. Its subfamily is Scilloideae, that is commonly called hyacinths. The genus is native to Eastern Mediterranian, Iraq, North-East Iran, and Turkmenistan.
